Christmas Feast

As alluded to in the last post, it was a feast day too.  At brunch, Temu was excited about his sausage, which we told him was spicy lamb (like daddy's), but really he had the regular turkey.

Dinner started out with baked macaroni and cheese with bread crumb top.  Daddy's had bacon and lobster meat, whereas momma's did not.

Dinner continued with cioppino and finished with peppermint and egg nog ice creams.  It was a great end to a great holiday!

Christmas Presents!

Here are photos from our big Christmas Day!  Presents were opened, followed by frequent intermissions to play with toys and eat, with a big three hour nap in the middle.  Temu had so much fun playing that he actually didn't get to half a dozen still wrapped presents still waiting under the tree.

Tractor was very exciting!  It got out of control exciting later when Temu unwrapped a hay wagon to go with his tractor.

Christmas Morning

Christmas Eve Bear Hunt

Today we went on a Christmas Eve "bear hunt".  Once again, we failed to find the bear, but we did have a great little hike with several stops to throw rocks into the stream.

Shortly after this next picture was taken Temu fell backwards into the stream.  His pants got wet, but he didn't really care.  He kept throwing rocks until momma and daddy were afraid he'd get frostbite.  It's hard to believe he came from tropical Ethiopia.

Temu loved this partially frozen over puddle with crunch pieces off ice to pick up and throw.  He was head to toe covered in wet mud by the time we got back to the car.  It exhausted him though, because three hours later he's still asleep!

Meeting Santa

Last night we went to Look Park to meet Santa.  Santa and Temu never discussed what Temu wanted for Christmas, instead Temu wanted to show Santa his race car.  Thanks to Temu, Santa now knows where the chassis and muffler live.

Later, powered up with an apple from Mrs. Claus, we jumped in to drive a sleigh.  This must be the "over the hills" part.

Haircut

Today Temu got a pre-Christmas haircut from his barber Khayyam at Global Cuts.

Boston Trip

Daddy's on vacation this week so we made a quick overnight trip to Boston.  First attraction was the subway, which was a big hit with Temu.  He even rides free!

We made a late afternoon trip to the New England Aquarium.  It was virtually empty, so we had the ray tank almost to ourselves.  It didn't take Temu very long to catch on that this was pretty fun!

We took in the window displays at Macy's.

Back at the hotel Temu was pretty excited about the concept of a phone by the toilet.  He also did a little lounging, and helped carry the suitcase.

This morning we hit the Children's Museum.   Took took the time to dress some hair . . .

to make a little steel drum music . . .

and to drive some trains.

Later we met Santa out in front of Macy's.  At first Temu didn't like Santa, but a candy cane changed his mind.
