Happy Halloween Time!

Tonight Temu (Temusaurus Rex) went trick or treating with his buddy Avery.  It was a great success, and after about two houses Temu figured out the concept.   All and all, we hit about 15 houses and Temu made a great haul.  There were a couple surprises along the way, including a witch answering a door (Temu hates witches--Temu scare!), and a man in a viking hat opening another door (Temu called him a moose).  We all had a great time, especially Temu, who learned "Kit Kat very very yummy!"  Instead of saying thank you, Temu wished most houses "happy halloween time!"

As many of you have probably heard, the storm of the century (aka Hurricane Sandy aka "Frankenstorm") is headed our way.  We're hoping she slows and loses some steam by the time she gets up here.  As you might remember, we had a crazy blizzard last year on Halloween, so we were really hoping for some normal weather this year.   We're as prepared as we can be and are hoping for the best (i.e.: safety and electricity).
The past two days we've spent lots of time outside - it's been pretty beautiful here (I guess that's why they call it "the calm before the storm"). Lots of biking, running, and hiking some new trails on Mt. Tom.

While Daddy's away...

We've had a long stretch of days (more like weeks) with Daddy gone.  He was in Denver at a national conference followed by many long days of work.  While we're very excited to have a whole day together soon, Mama and Temu have had some fun adventures while he's been gone!

One sunny day we went to the North Hadley Sugar Shack to play in their new "Farm Tale" exhibit.  SO FUN - lots of friendly animals, giant sandboxes, little play houses, a wooden train, tractors to ride, and an awesome water table which will be great in the summer.

 Temu had a playdate with his buddy, Avery.

 Temu got to this last bite of toast and decided to play with it because "That's a dolphin!"

 We had dinner at our friend Joeli's house one night.  After dinner Temu played dress-up with his girl friends.

Saturday morning we went hiking at Mt. Tom.  Temu is a great hiker - we were out for over 2 hours.

It was a bit chilly, evidenced by Temu's willingness to wear his mittens.

 One night while reading this book:

we got to this page where Big Bear was cleaning up the bear cave and Temu said, "That's a surf board."  Then, after thinking a minute said, "No. That's a yoga mat." Funny boy.
