February Happenings

For the last several weeks, we had "trapped" Temu at nap time by inverting his bed.   Well, he figured this out.

We knew this was inevitable, but it bought us enough time to get him used to sleeping in his bed.  His bed is back at floor level, but now he mostly sleeps there instead of the floor.

February is all about making plans to get Temu some exercise.  Here's a few pics from a recent hike at Amherst Brook.

Daddy took Temu to his first hockey game, to see the Springfield Falcons, the minor league affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets.  Temu liked everything except the mascot, and just about ate his own weight in Swedish Fish.  The pic below with the mascot looks like a movie, but it's really a single still picture.

We go to the mall a lot to run run run, ride escalators, and listen to headphones at the Apple store.  Recently we've added a stop at the arcade to our visits.

For barely seeing over the table and only being able to reach half the width, he's a pretty good air hockey player, even if he does grunt like Monica Seles.  Still, daddy is undefeated.

The Big Snow

The day BEFORE the big snow was sunny and "warm," so Temu and mama took an hour-long trip down the bike trail.
 17 inches of snow later...
We could barely find our cars!

Good to know that sand toys also work great as snow toys.  Fortunately, Temu loves the snow - to play with and eat.
Temu likes taking photos of himself - getting pretty good at it, too.
On Sunday after church Temu and Daddy did some snow exploring on the Smith campus - lots of snow to play with there, too.

The downside to having gorgeously long eyelashes is that they catch lots of snowflakes!

The X-ray

The week we got a call from Sunnyside School stating that Temu had fallen on the playground and wouldn't walk.  We gave him ibuprofen and an hour, but he still wouldn't walk, so we took him down to Baystate for evaluation.  Fortunately, his x-ray was negative, and the next morning he started walking on it again.  Today we're back to full strength Temu.

Today we started work on Temu's train table.  Stay tuned for the final product!

Miscellaneous Winter Adventures

The blog slows down in the winter, but we have had a few recent adventures.  We recently went to the Springfield Museum, which has a Dr. Seuss sculpture garden.  Here's temu giving the lorax a high five.

Temu was pretty sure this was a "dragon", not a dinosaur.

Here's Temu with a bearded dragon lizard.  When we told him the name, Temu asked the lizard to "breathe fire please!".  When it didn't oblige, Temu said "it's not working so well".

Daddy snuck Temu into the arcade while momma was doing some errands.  Temu loves car racing games.

Worn out.

Temu on a recent Baystate ER recruiting night at Packards with his buddy John.    Temu had a good time, despite being a little wild with the pool chalk.
